Welcome! This site was originally a collections of links to the various Rurouni Kenshin Translations found in the Internet (and still is). So, I didn't put much effort in making that beautiful ^_^ this site (as you can notice). When I was subscribed to SASS (now SASSE), now and then popped up people asking where they could get the English translations of the Rurouni Kenshin Manga, so this site is intended to help them. BUT this site features also every Ruroken manga chapters that went untranslated (or at least I'm trying to do my best, ok? ^_^) PLUS some extra thingies (yeah, right), so I hope you come back often! ^_~ Sometimes I DO update this site! (or at least until I finish with all the gaps of the manga translations)
And THANK YOU for your support! ^_~ Never thought my site would get so many hits... ^_^;; *bows*
Feel free to take the images and/or translations, but PLEASE give the due credits! ^_^ The translations were made from blood, sweat and tears ^_^;;; so don't you think it's fair to give credit where credit is due? ^_~
And since you're here, could you drop in and sign the guestbook? ^_^ Thank you and sorry for the bother! Doumo arigatou! ^_~ But I won't force you...
BTW, this site has always been, and will always be, link free! Feel free to link to this humble site of mine ^_^ You can use this banner, if you want to.
I've created a simpler version of this translation index. It has only the links for the Rurouni Kenshin manga translations, without the other stuff like the Free Talks and Character Profiles. A page intended for people:
1) Without a good bandwidth;
2) Who only want to get the translations and nothing else;
3) Any other reasons that I don't know. ^_^;;;
Go to the Simpler Version of the Translation Index
Updated on January, 25th, 2001... First of all, a (much belated) Happy New Year! ^_^ *bows* This update was to be done last year/century/millenium, butdue to several problems -_- I wasn't able to work on this site... *sigh* Oh well...
Anyway, now the translation of every Rurouni Kenshin chapter is available in the Net! ^__^ It seems that all that is left to do now is to translate some tidbits that are related to the Rurouni Kenshin series, and that's it ^^
Update contents:
1) Put a Guestbook! If you have got some spare time, could you sign it? Please? ^_~
2) Uploaded the translation of Chapter 240 (finally!). For Aoshi fans ^^
3) Uploaded the translation of Meteor Strike.
4) Revised the Serizawa Kamo's biography. Some minor changes and some more facts.
5) Revised some free talks (many thanks to Sephiroth Makoro Knight).
6) Revised my "stupid bio" ^_^;;;
7) Updated some links.
8) "Created" a new section. Now working on the Shinsengumi section! ^_^
9) Another new section, with the interviews with Watsuki Nobuhiro sensei, author of Rurouni Kenshin ^_^
10) More minor changes on this site.
This is just a page to show the changes that this site went through -- just a curiosity, really... ^_^
Go check the Previous Updates
Please DON'T think that you'll find a biography about me ^_^ The biography is about the REAL Serizawa Kamo, one of the first leaders of the Shinsengumi.
SHINSENGUMI FANS (yes, you ^_^): The biography has got PLENTY of information about the Shinsengumi (focused mainly in its early stages) and has got some photos of people that may sound familiar to you ^_^
So, enjoy the Serizawa Kamo's Biography Page! ^_^
This section shows who were the most famous and/or important people in the Shinsengumi. Short biographies of Saitou Hajime, Okita Souji, Hijikata Toshizou, Nagakura Shinpachi and Yamanami Keisuke, just to name a few.
(this section is not up yet)
This section presents some of the most proeminent affairs involving the Wolves of Mibu. Some of them are already presented in the Serizawa Kamo'sbiography. Info about the Ikeda Inn Affair (Ikedaya Jiken), the Kinmon no Hen and the battle of Toba and Fushimi, again just to name a few.
(this section is not up yet)
This is just a curiosity, for those who want to know what are the books that deal with the history of the Shinsengumi. Unfortunately, all of them are in Japanese, so... sorry... T_T

And finally, you can check also the Rurouni Kenshin Jump Updates, where you can find the latest chapters. Many people did the translation of the Rurouni Kenshin manga chapters, so the style is heavily mixed and therefore it may look a bit awkward at first sight.

![]() Rurouni Kenshin Jump Updates |
The Rurouni Kenshin Jump Updates features lots of summaries, notes and scans for this mini-arc. I've done the complete translations of them (see below). But, nonetheless, this site is awesome. Let's remember that this was the only source of info about the latest Kenshin chapters! ^_^

After the official end of the Rurouni Kenshin manga in the Shonen Jump magazine, Watsuki Nobuhiro sensei did two stories as an epilogue to Rurouni Kenshin. Just click on the links and get their translations! ^_^
The first story is the last installment of Rurouni Kenshin in the Shonen Jump: a side story featuring Yahiko! Go read the Yahiko's Sakabatou (thanks a lot to Richard Fung-san for the first summary!)
And the second is an extra story of the Kenshin Kaden! It's the "Haru ni Sakura", or "Cherry Blossoms in the Spring"! (thanks a lot to Smerfette-san!)
And why did I decide to put here Free Talks and Character Profiles? The Character Profiles is just, hm, a useless knowledge, just a curiosity, to tell the truth. And the Free Talks are also a curiosity, but in this case sometimes Watsuki says something of general interest, so I thought it might be interesting to translate them.

Watsuki-sensei's words about this story:
"This is a one-shot story that I wrote before, as part of a competition between Shonen Jump Authors. This competition project appeared out from nowhere while I was involved with Rurouni Kenshin, so I had neither will nor stamina nor previous arrangements to do that. Nevertheless, I tried my best to make it presentable, but...
When I had finished it, I hated myself so much that I thought about breaking my pen in two. I promised to myself never to show this work again, but because of the number of pages in this volume, this one-shot is presented. And when I read it again... well, it sure is a light-hearted work, and I think that, while it deserves no good appreciation, it deserves no bad appreciation either. (obviously it's too far from satisfatory. If only I had one more week and more fifteen pages...)
There are three points that I explored in this story. One is "Meteor" - this is something I was planning to use for a long time ago, and when I wrote it, this concept was the first idea for the next work after Rurouni Kenshin. As I wrote in the story, the meteor is the most explosive thing in natural phenomena, and the closest to us in the astronomical matter, so I was thinking about doing a big story having meteor as the central idea. Then this one-shot challenge popped up and so I did this "Meteor Strike" in only 31 pages. The end of the world by Nostradamus has gone, and the Hollywood movie about meteors has scored a big hit, so I don't think I will use this meteor concept for a while. But, personally speaking, I still do like meteors, and I have one or two ideas about the concept, so I hope I can insert it again in a future work.
The second is "a young boy with work gloves". Work gloves are awkward and far from cool, but they're an item that gives strength to the user, and one of my favorite items. I was decided to make the protagonist wear it at least once, if the time was set in the modern era. Shin-ya was an impromptu made character, so I'm a bit sorry that he has become such a straight and a bit Kenshin-like character. I should have expanded his character a little more.
And the third is "a young girl with a helmet". I felt that the image of a young girl using a really masculine item like helmet was just so cool that I should draw it. The heroin characters that I draw reflect, all of them, my likes and dislikes at the time of their creation. Indeed. I tried to draw Chiho with a Shoujo manga motif, where the boy and the girl face the turning point as they grow more mature in their feelings, but I had no success again. However, the doting way of Chiho was really fun to write.
So this "Meteor Strike" is a weird one-shot, written under heavy suffering while working in the Rurouni Kenshin story. It's a bit different from Rurouni Kenshin, and I think this will be a good story to improve my future works."
Read the "Meteor Strike" here
One interesting (and good ^_^) thing in Rurouni Kenshin is that there is lots ofinformation about the making of the series when compared to other mangas and animes. ^_^ I have decided to translate the interviews that were published in several sources. Some come from the books about Rurouni Kenshin and some from the Sony site in the Internet. This is just an extra, just to present some curiosities about the wonderful Rurouni Kenshin series, so to speak.
Rurouni Kenshin had lots of miscellaneous books dealing with the series. Among those books, there are two that are sort of guidebooks to the series: Kenshin Hiden and Kenshin Kaden. And in those two books, there are interviews with the creator of Rurouni Kenshin, Watsuki Nobuhiro.
The first interview is featured in the Kenshin Hiden. Several interesting facts about Watsuki-sensei ^_^ His background, his favorite characters, his favorite manga, what he likes to do... ^_^
Read the Kenshin Hiden interview (not up yet)
The second interview is featured in the Kenshin Kaden. This time, there is plentyof information about the Rurouni Kenshin series itself. How it began, some behind-the-scenes happenings, the unpublished Hokkaido Arc, etc. ^_^
Read the Kenshin Kaden interview (not up yet)
The booklet of the Rurouni Kenshin Movie - "A Requiem to the Ishin Shishi" (Ishin Shishi e no Requiem) features several interviews with the staff involved in the movie, including voice actors/actresses, directors, musicians, etc. Quite interesting ^_^ It's not an interview in the strict sense of the word, but rather some things that the staff said when making the movie. The impressions they had on their respective characters, and so on. ^_^
Read the Kenshin Movie staff interview (not up yet)
This "interview" is more like a talk between the directors of the Rurouni Kenshin OVA, and it's featured in the Sony Rurouni Kenshin site ^_^ As I thought that some people couldn't read/view Japanese, I decided to translate it and add to this humble site ^_^
Read the Kenshin OVA interview (not up yet)
And after the recording of the voices, some of the voice actors gave a short interview. Hope you like it ^_^

Well, thanks for some people on the Net, I managed to get the script for the Rurouni Kenshin movie (Ishin Shishi e no Requiem - "A Requiem for the Ishin Shishi"). Many thanks to Jesus Zhu and Ernest Ng for pointing me the Fansubs.net to get the script. And thanks to MaitreYod also for actually sending me a script.
Get the Movie Script here (Zip format)
Another script for the movie (ACE format)
Ernest Ng told me that you can get also a French script, though this seems to be a beta version, that is, full of errors.

And if you want to see scans, not translations, of the most recent issues, I strongly recommend the Rurouni Kenshin Resource Center - it's the best place to go. It has scans (although partial) from the last chapters of the Kenshin manga, as well as the Yahiko's Sakabatou story!
You can get the Chinese version here

This site features the translations with all the word bubbles and such, to give a "real feel" of the manga.
And there is the RK Fan Scan Project, where you can find the translated scans of the manga, starting from the Kyoto Arc.
Well... what can I say? This is an extremely random page about this lowly self... you won't miss anything if you ignore this page! *sweatdrop*
